Argentinian Women Win Battle to Decriminalize Abortion

Women's groups in Argentina have protested for years for abortion rights. This struggle has finally climaxed in a nail-bitingly close Congressional vote (129-125) in favor of decriminalizing abortion for the first 14 weeks of pregnancy. These groups, such as Ni Una Menos, have organized rallies which attract hundreds of thousands of supporters. On August 8, the Senate will vote on the law, ultimately determining if it passes.
