Black Femininity

sprout from kings and queens
a history of resilience grown bound to a commitment
to persevere
to color the chains that weigh us down to paint a different narrative
bury us with our ancestors
and we’ll thrive among the flowers

and let this serve
as a reminder
of our strength. beauty. wisdom.
