Black Women's Groups Mobilize Southern Voters

Black women's groups have increased efforts to mobilize Democratic Southern voters, empowering marginalized communities by encouraging them to exercise their right to vote. The coalition of groups includes Black Voters Matter, the Black Women's Roundtable, and the Southern Rural Black Women's Initiative, and it has supported candidates such as Doug Jones and Stacey Abrams. An additional goal for the coalition is to encourage black women to run for office and gain leadership roles.
