Fit Pregnancy Club, or FPC, is a gym in New York City, founded by Carolina Gunnarsson and Joanie Johnson, where pregnant and postpartum women can work out in a safe and conscious environment. The gym offers targeted exercises that help women during their pregnancies by strengthening the muscles involved in childbirth and maintaining a low-stress way of breathing. Gunnarsson and Johnson teamed up for New York moms after they noticed a lack of informed and pregnancy-conscious trainers and the amount of women putting up with unnecessary postpartum complications because of this. Fit Pregnancy Club provides on-site doulas, childbirth educators, prenatal nutrition specialists, and lactation counselors. It is also a place for pregnant women and new moms to socialize and learn together how to best navigate their pregnancies.
