Feminist Climate Change: Launching A Global Movement

Greyhound plans to cancel bus routes in British Columbia to save money, effective October 31, a move which a Vancouver women’s shelter claims could severely harm women fleeing abuse and violence. Often, the bus service is the only mode of transportation for such vulnerable women, particularly in rural, isolated communities. Vancouver Rape Relief has called on the government to take action against this decision. Without Greyhounds, many women may be stuck between choosing to stay with an abuser or using an unsafe mode of transportation to escape.
