India Joins Fight To Cut Blood Taxes

One of the largest barriers to education for young women is menstruation poverty, and India is beginning to combat this by cutting their tax on sanitary pads. Girls can now afford to attend school during their periods, helping them grow to their true potential. There are lower taxes on sanitary pads in the UK and Australia, but these countries continue to protest and campaign against these taxes nevertheless. The important message, women worldwide agree, is that sanitary items are a necessity, not a luxury.
