While body hair is still a hot topic—like how Julia Roberts’ is still being asked questions about her infamous red carpet walk in 1999 with unshaven armpits—a few young celebrities are on a mission to normalize body hair on red carpets. Lourdes Leon, daughter of Madonna, stepped onto the 2018 CFDA/Vogue fashion show red carpet in a short white dress with fully unshaven armpits and legs. Not only is Leon smashing societal expectations regarding body hair, but she also “freed the nipple” at the Oscars, wearing a sheer, gorgeous, white and silver dress for the event. Leon thinks that whether and how to groom body hair is an entirely personal decision, and sometimes, you just have to live your life and not care what other people have to say.
