On December 5th, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, surprised students and faculty at King’s College London. In collaboration with the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), Markle and a group of professors and student leaders discussed how universities can aid issues like “human trafficking and modern slavery, gender equality and inclusion, peace and reconciliation, and climate change and resilience.” Her visit to the university came just a few days after she met with former U.S. first lady Michelle Obama on her London book tour for her memoir, Becoming. They reportedly talked about ways leaders and citizens can empower girls’ education around the globe.
