One Small Step for Naomi, One Big Step for Womankind

The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago has recently promoted Naomi Beckworth to senior curator. With an impressive resume under her belt, Beckworth says she acts as a translator for the artists’ work, presenting each piece in a way that allows it to come to life. As a woman of color, Beckworth’s promotion marks an important shift in the man’s world of art. She herself is optimistic about the art world’s future, believing that “...the future is looking bright for anyone who takes the time to study art deeply and develop a voice”.
