Survivors of Domestic Violence Are Not Safe Online

Once survivors of domestic violence escape their abusive partners, life becomes much safer after a restraining order or order of protection is implemented by a court.  However, due to the proliferation of social media, “no contact” clauses must be expanded to include the myriad ways people communicate in the digital age.  Emotional abuse can continue in this fashion if left unchecked, which many survivors report is psychologically damaging.
